All NBA Fantasy Selections for 2023–2024

As we wind down the NBA regular season, we’re ready to discuss who the best players were for fantasy hoops. There isn’t a huge variance between the best actual players and the fantasy performances; if you had Jokic, Giannis, or Doncic this year, your team should have been competitive, as they respectively scored nearly 5% more points per game than any other player.

NFL Draft Fantasy Disappointments

These guys will be over-drafted. I will reserve judgement on scheme and team fit, but from what I have seen, I’m underwhelmed and will be avoiding these guys.

QBs

  • Drake Maye — I was out on Josh Allen too so take this with a grain of salt. I see a Mitchell Trubisky, Kyle Boller, Josh Allen type with ideal arm strength, size and scout projections. If he becomes Josh Allen then he justifies being a top 3 pick but I see a lot of downside (very low floor).
  • JJ McCarthy — The floor on McCarthy is much higher than Maye or even Bo Nix, Penix and possibly Jaden Daniels, I just don’t see a high ceiling. He’s a game manager who is being projected beyond his talent and past production would dictate.

RBs

  • Bucky Irving — This will be heavily scheme/fit dependent but Irving is a JAG. He certainly can be a productive fantasy performer but he’s more of just a replacement-level guy in the NFL.
  • Braelon Allen — I never saw anything special from Allen. He’s not going to be drafted high (3rd or 4th round) so expectations won’t be high but his reputation is stronger than his actual ability.

WRs

  • Ladd McConkey — I’m seeing him in the 1st round, and I don’t see that. He’s a potentially very good slot receiver. If he lands in the New England Patriots 2018 offense then sure it’s a great fit. Otherwise this is a slot guy whose ceiling is WR3 in year three. Is that worth a top rookie pick?
  • Roman Wilson — Another slot receiver who is being mentioned as a 2nd round selection. In the real NFL guys like Wilson and McConkey are critical cogs in successful offenses. But neither of these guys are special to buck traditional slot production, and in modern offenses they’ll be competing as the third or fourth options in offenses.

TEs

I don’t have any as I’m confident Brock Bowers will be very good, and other guys will go in the 2nd and 3rd rounds; thus, our expectations for them from a fantasy perspective will be tempered.
